We are pleased to announce that we have hired a new Therapist for our Phase 1 and Phase 2 guests at Refuge for Women! Michelle Harrison recently joined our staff here in Kentucky. She has a Masters in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She is also earned her LAPC in the state of Georgia and is pursuing licensure in the state of Kentucky. She will also complete her certification as an Addiction Counselor by the end of 2016.
Michelle and her husband, Tim, have a non-profit, Grace to Glory, which specializes in counseling, life coaching, retreats and employee care. Her passion is to help individuals break free from the things that bind them, equip them to renew heir minds with the truth about who God is, and to grow in their identity in Christ. She and Tim have 3 sons.
Michelle's time at Refuge for Women will be spent in weekly one-on-one sessions with each of our residents. During this time she will work with the residents to reconcile past trauma and make a plan for moving forward. Her sessions will involve goal setting and helping each resident work through the steps to accomplish these goals. In addition, she will lead a group counseling session with all residents each week.
We are constantly looking for tools and resources that we can put in the hands of our residents as they heal and pursue their dreams. We believe that the addition of Michelle and her skills to our team will be a great resource for our residents! We are so excited to see her impact on each of their lives!
