Refuge for Women Ohio Valley
Welcome to the Ohio Valley!! We are very excited for our house to become a part of Refuge for Women, INC and are looking forward to where God is leading!
Theresa Golden is the City Director here at Refuge for Women – Ohio Valley. Theresa has a servant’s heart and a passion to care for those who are not able to care for themselves. Her compassion for others has continued to grow over the last 25 years as a Registered Nurse as well as her desire to demonstrate God’s love to those for whom she has met. She has been an active member in Church life and has served as a Sunday school teacher, Youth Leader, Small group leader and currently is on a prayer ministry team. Theresa and her husband Chatt have 3 adult children – Macklyn, Kaitlyn and Jacob and a soon to be son-in-law Joshua. They enjoy the outdoors, spending time with friends, going on mission trips and taking cruises with their family.
We would also like to welcome our new Program Director, Tameka Ely. She has been an advocate for women over the last 14 years. She has had a strong desire to reach the hurting and lost while encouraging others in her service to God. Tameka has served in the church nursery, Upwards Basketball, Kidz summer program and as a Counselor at Elkhorn Valley Christian Summer camp. Her previous work experience has included working as an optician, a yoga instructor and managing two sober living homes for women. She enjoys spending time with her three boys Isaiah, Jourdo and Dallas whom she previously homeschooled, serving in her church and community, dancing the bachata, and recreational outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and running.
Refuge for Women - Ohio Valley is currently in the process of hiring additional staff and will be accepting new residents as of April 1, 2019. We look forward to providing a place of safety and healing while the women develop skills leading to a healthy and balanced life along with financial independence.
