Here in Ohio we held our first Service Project in a Box event in our community with the Jefferson County Christian School Students.  This day was part of a school-wide event to learn and participate in local ministries.   After prayer and fasting throughout the week to prepare for the day, nine high school boys and girls made bracelets while learning about dangers of social media in relation to human trafficking.  The students, along with their teacher, a parent and our City Director, then distributed the bracelets at a local high-rise apartment building downtown.  The students would talk with tenants who stopped by about the importance of awareness of human trafficking in our area and encouraged them to pray for those who are being exploited.

Since this event Refuge has received invitations to present two additional Service projects and speak at two upcoming local events.   We are so excited to not only provide residential services but to also be a part of prevention programs and awareness. The Ohio Valley area has been very receptive to our mission and have shown a great desire to be involved!
